Nitrogen legislation

The judge has decided that the Netherlands must adhere to its own agreement in an EU context that Dutch nature can only handle a maximum amount of nitrogen emissions. The Netherlands has agreed that biodiversity in Natura 2000 areas must not decrease further. Biodiversity means that there are many different types of plants and animals in one area. The amount of precipitation of reactive nitrogen that really causes problems for nature has not been determined by coincidence. This has been extensively researched by major universities and renowned research institutes from all over the world. Circular building activities would contribute to a decrease in the emission of nitrogens.
